Many will remember Jonathan Antoine as one half of a duo who came second in the sixth series of Britain’s Got Talent, behind Ashleigh and Pudsey, a dancing dog. But that did not stop him and Charlotte Jaconelli from releasing two very successful albums.

In 2014 he decided to pursue a solo career and he went on to release two albums, Tenore and Believe, both of which went on to reach the number one spot on the Classical charts. Now Antoine has released a pure Christmas album called ChristmasLand which contains no gimmicks, just a voice that fills your soul with the glories of the season.

Produced by Grammy award winning Gregg Field remotely from Los Angeles and featuring The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gavin Greenaway, with New Zealand’s Choristers of Wellington Cathedral of St Paul and The Tudor Consort, they have created a beautiful album during this very difficult year.

Antoine has taken the well-known classic festive songs and hymns and breathed new life into them so that they sound fresh and new, showcasing his amazing vocal range. Opening with Winter Wonderland followed by the gorgeous White Christmas, each hymn, carol and beautiful song evokes so many Christmas memories.

Silent Night with its orchestral arrangements and the breath-taking added choir brings the carol together magnificently. With his amazing strength of voice and layers of sound, the likes of The Christmas Song, O Come All Ye Faithful, I’ll Be Home For Christmas and O Holy Night provide the best listening experience.

How Great Thou Art is soft and tender whilst Amazing Grace (Grazia) makes you stop in your tracks so that you don’t miss a note. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing has a lovely harpsichord break and These Are Special Times, a song originally recorded by Celine Dion, has been rewritten specifically for Antoine by the legendary American songwriter, Diane Warren and sung in Italian, is a sheer beauty.

Finishing with Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Antoine has released a very special album, which will undoubtedly be played every Christmas.
