Richard Ashcroft is delighted to announce his long-awaited homecoming shows at Robin Park, Wigan on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July. This will be the first time Richard has performed in Wigan for over 25 years.

“After 25 years, I’m back playing in my hometown,” Richard says. “Looking forward to two amazing nights in Wigan.”

Richard Ashcroft is a two-time Ivor Novello winner (Songwriter of the Year in 1998 and Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2019) who has released five top five solo albums, including the number one debut Alone With Everybody. He first came to attention with The Verve, with whom he released one of the biggest albums of the era in the shape of Urban Hymns (the UK’s 18th biggest selling album of all-time) as well as a succession of anthems which remain staples of his live set today, including The Drugs Don’t Work, Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man and Sonnet. His most recent album, Acoustic Hymns, was released in 2022 and reached number two in the UK Album Chart.

Joining him on Saturday 20th will be Cast, Red Rum Club and Maxwell Varey. On Sunday it will be The Zutons, The Royston Club and Stanleys.

Robin Park is Wigan Warriors’ new multi-million pound facility, built in association with Wigan council. Located next to The DW Stadium, Robin Park is just a 20 minute walk from Wigan town centre, and Wigan North Western train station.
