The Royal Concert Hall was packed to the rafters last night to welcome Paloma Faith back to Nottingham and with her rousing entrance and huge smile she delivered her usual eclectic repertoire of songs in a way that only she does.

Getting the crowd on their feet immediately with Last Night On Earth, she followed up with a powerful performance of her recent single Gold which showed that her recent bout of laryngitis was history as her melodic and powerful voice resounded around the auditorium.

Infinite Things, the title track from her latest album was written for her two children and proved to be a beautiful moment. Picking Up The Pieces was a real crowd favourite as was the brilliant power anthem, Monster. Entertaining throughout, she showed that she is genuinely funny, sassy and opinionated and the crowd hung on her every word.

Mid set the quirky songstress with her infectious personality delivered a medley which included her debut single Stone Cold Sober, a crowd sing along version of Upside Down and Stargazer which was being performed live for the first time on this tour and which was dedicated to the late Prince.

The epic Guilty showcased her very talented band and backing vocalists and the stunning guitar work on Beautiful And Damned was simply stunning. The poppy Sigma collaboration, Changing was predictably good as was the Chaka Khan favourite, I’m Every Woman which had everyone singing along, before main set closer If This Is Goodbye left the crowd with goose bumps.

Saying that if the crowd shouted loud enough she would be back for an encore, which they did and she was with Better Than This, the dance hit Lullaby, and her haunting ballad, Only Love Can Hurt Like This which finished the night on a real high.
