Last night Anastacia completely owned the Royal Concert Hall stage with a set list that was jam packed with classic hits that spanned the past two decades of her illustrious career, along with some fan favourites and some inspired choices of cover tracks.

Making a grand entrance through an illuminated A, she immediately showed why she has arguably one of the most powerful voices of our time. Opening with a triple whammy of hard hitting numbers including her take on Christina Aquilera’s Army Of Me, fans favourites Sick And Tired and Stupid Little Things, the audience immediately showed their appreciation for an artist that is as well known for her medical problems as she is for her soaring voice.

Filling the Hall with some incredible vocal acrobatics with slower songs In Your Eyes and the astonishingly good Who’s Gonna Stop The Rain, she also gave her underrated singles a share of the spotlight with the anthemic Welcome To My Truth with its rollicking guitar backing and the sassy Cowboys And Kisses which prompted the first sing along of the night. There was even a cover of the Foo Fighters Best Of You which sat perfectly with the likes of the funky Not That Kind and Why’d You Lie To Me.

Leaving the stage to walk amongst the audience, she delivered the evening’s most powerful moment as she sang You Are Not Alone which truly showcased her phenomenal voice.

Making room for some costume changes, she gave the stage over to her very tight band, backing vocalist and dancers who entertained the audience with a funky disco medley and some subliminal dance routines. Bringing an evening to an end she finished with a euphoric blast of early noughties nostalgia with I’m Outta Love, the up tempo Left Outside Alone and One Day In Your Life that had the appreciative crowd on their feet to applaud a fabulous entertainer.
