Twelve years after Becky Hill’s appearance on The Voice UK, she is now one of the biggest names in the British music industry and as she embarks upon her first arena tour, she stopped off at The Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday night, much to the delight of a crowd of mainly young women who were with her from the very start.

Having spent a decade as a dance pop guest vocalist for the like of Rudimental and Little Mix, Hill delivered a whole set of hits and cuts from her second album Believe Me Now? which was released earlier this year. She delivered a powerful set which began with album track True Colours and included many of the anthemic songs that she’s become known for like Last Time, Crazy What Love Can Do, Afterglow and Disconnect.

There was an early showing of fans favourite Gecko (Overdrive) that saw the crowd in full sing along mode which she mashed up with a garage mix of Daniel Bedingfield’s Gotta Get Thru This before her hit singles False Alarm, I Could Get Used To This and Lose Control were all given an airing.

From the moment that she had stepped on to the stage she commanded everyone’s attention which never faltered. It wasn’t until the middle of the set that she launched into her latest single, Indestructible; the words of which were already known to this appreciative crowd.

With her flawless delivery, rich with emotion and control, she effortlessly shifted from powerful bangers to softer vulnerable moments that allowed her to connect with the crowd which made for a memorable night.

Finishing her vibrant and energetic set with Swim and Wish You Well, her performance had been a triumph, showcasing why she is now attracting the attention she so richly deserves.
