Last night saw the return of JLS to the Motorpoint Arena for the first of their two shows and what a triumphant return it was.

Whilst Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams, Marvin Humes and JB Gill may not have performed together as a group for eight years, they immediately brought the house down performing hit after hit for a screaming crowd that sang along to every word.

This tour was definitely a celebration of their past successes and when opener The Club Is Alive saw the quartet burst from beneath a stage that was swathed in smoke and with Merrygold sending the crowd wild with his signature back flip, the evening’s fun had begun.

Do You Feel What I Feel with its bursting flames throughout was followed by one of the best songs from the JLS locker, One Shot which saw flames and pyrotechnics command the stage as JLS showcased their stronger vocals, their wonderfully cheesy matching dance moves and their cheeky charming grins.

Fans of a good JLS ballad were kept happy with Take A Chance On Me with its striking visuals before the tempo was picked straight back up again for Eyes Wide Shut. Great use was made of a giant backdrop screen which added further spectacle to their show and the between song banter was thoroughly entertaining.

Day One, dedicated to their fans, and new song Eternal Love took the night to an absolute fever pitch and Love You More was strategically placed within the set list to keep the crowd wanting more. A quick costume change saw them back for She Makes Me Wanna before their debut number one hit, Beat Again closed the main set.

With the atmosphere electric they returned for an encore of Proud complete with a very moving video of them with their children before Everybody In Love had arms swaying in the air and an explosion of confetti brought a fabulous evening to an end.
