The Script played to a packed Motorpoint Arena on Wednesday night on the sixth night of their Satellites tour and delivered a set that was from start to finish, an explosion of energy and dynamism.

To get the crowd nicely warmed up was Scottish singer songwriter, Tom Walker. Sporting his trademark beanie hat, this vocal powerhouse performed an array of ballads from his impeccable discography, which saw the crowd singing along enthusiastically to songs like Cry Out, Not Giving Up, Rapture and Just You And I.

Accompanied by a very tight four piece band, he wasted no time in drawing in the crowd with his wildly impressive vocals and larger than life stage presence. But it was the pure raw emotional Leave A Light On that closed the set and saw the crowd delivering rapturous applause.

Since 2022 a lot has changed for The Script, in particular was the death of their guitarist and co-founder Mark Sheehan in April 2023, which caused the band to transition from a trio to a quartet by officially adding two new members.

Entering the B stage for their first three songs, front man Danny O’Donghue danced and jumped around the stage to opener You Won’t Feel A Thing. Their massive single Superheroes made an early appearance as did the dynamic pop rock song, Rain.

With a generous shower of confetti the party was finally started as they made their way to the main stage for new songs Both Ways and At Your Feet which were very well received. From a set list that included all of the fans favourites from their seven incredible albums, O’Donoghue moved seamlessly through the likes of Six Degrees Of Separation, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved and The Last time.

For the encore there was the much adored Breakeven which saw the crowd swoon to its anthemic chorus before they finished with their mega hit Hall Of Fame which saw another burst of confetti.

With a career spanning twenty three years, The Script still remain a popular enduring force in the music scene and their songs from their latest album show that they plan to be around to continue performing on the stage that they so clearly love being on.
